MANILA, Philippines? There were water splashing, tears, and revelations of drugs, sex, and love as a Senate committee began its inquiry into the sex videos involving controversial cosmetic surgeon Hayden Kho and actress Katrina Halili.
Kho, 29, said he was high on drugs when he videotaped his trysts with Halili and other female celebrities.
Kho said his relationship with Halili revolved around ?drugs and sex, drugs and sex? and he pointed to the actress as the one who influenced him to use ?ecstasy.?
The actress, teary-eyed, denied this.
"Hindi po totoo na nagbibigay ako sa kaniya ng drugs," said Halili as she also rejected the surgeon?s claim she was into drugs.
She stressed her relationship with Kho was beyond sexual. ?Minahal ko si Hayden.?
But Halili said she had no inkling Kho?s ?kiss and embrace were simply scripted.?
Halili said.
Halili said the scandal brought shame to her and her family. The videos have been uploaded on the Internet and are also being sold in the underground market.
?Opo artista po ako. Trabaho ko po ang maghatid ng tuwa. Pantasya ng telebisyon at pelikula. Pero tulad ng iba, may pribadong buhay din po,? Halili said.
?Sa pagkakataon pong ito, dangal ko at dangal ng pamilya ko ang pinag-uusapan dito.?
Who?s the culprit?
Kho said he suspected his friends businessman Eric Chua and Bistek Rosario were the ones who circulated the sex videos.
Vicki Belo, former girlfriend of Kho, had said the videos of Kho with Halili and other women were first stored in a computer hard drive belonging to the Belo Medical Group.
Her lawyer Adel Tamano said Belo had asked Chua to delete the videos. But Chua, instead of deleting the videos, apparently made a copy and even gave Belo a CD containing the files, he added.
Water splashing
Earlier, as Halili was entering the hearing room commotion ensued after former Laguna mayor Abner Afuang splashed water on Kho.
?Arrest that man,? shouted Senator Maria Ana ?Jamby? Madrigal, who chairs the Senate committee on youth, women and family relations, which is hearing the case.
Afuang was later arrested by the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms.
