MANILA, Philippines? In front of the camera, Pretty Star claims she?s not threatened by Younger Star in her home studio.
An insider, however, confirmed the rumor that PS is not just bothered, she?s lethally insecure of YS. For her latest movie, PS made sure that YS was dropped from the cast list.
PS bared her fangs and refused to share the screen with the promising and more refined YS. Meeowrs!
Stage dad to the max
Relatives of Gorgeous Novice are shaking their heads in disbelief: Now that GN is getting good breaks, her Absentee Father has elected to re-enter her life. AF has somehow convinced GN to include him in all the studio?s projects.
It?s supposedly specified in GN?s contract that her employers should also hire AF. GN?s concerned relatives gasped: ?Where was AF in the last two decades ? as GN grew up??
Not broke? Why fix it?
Long-running Show is purportedly on the chopping block.
Staffers were allegedly asked to come up with alternative concepts ? and stars. They are confused because LS is rating well and studded with ads. Why fix something that?s not broken?
People in the know think it?s because the stars of LS aren?t chummy with a certain Network Exec. Among the supposed replacement stars is Male Celebrity, who?s close to NE. MC constantly wines and dines NE, explained a mole.
Double speak, TV style
Same NE apparently rationalized station underlings the decision to axe LS.
NE was cautioned that it would displace top celebrities who?ve contributed a lot to the channel. NE was overheard exclaiming: ?No one will get mad at us. Their manager?s no longer around.?
Shocking, but true.
Missing star
Big Star was missing at a recent network shebang.
The reason? Feisty Manager apparently pulled out BS?even after FM was assured that BS would be given a special segment in the show.
Apparently, FM doesn?t believe that the people in charge will take care of BS.
And rightly so.
Twitterworld, directors? cut
Seen and read on Twitterland are quick quips from different filmmakers.
Dante Nico Garcia: ?Just had a six-hour chat with the Star for All Seasons [Vilma Santos]. I?m now a convert Vilmanian.?
On Monday, Jose Javier Reyes was prepping for a full week ahead: ?Workshop with GMA 7 writers ? then wrestling with Star Cinema screenplay for [director] Cathy Molina.?
Raya Martin: ?I really need to start working, but all I can think of now is a North Park meal.?
Adolfo Alix Jr. Twitted from abroad: ?Waiting for connecting flight to Moscow in Doha.? He is attending the Moscow International Film Festival, where two of his movies (?Adela,? ?Manila?) are in exhibition.
Bobby Garcia, set to make his indie film debut (produced by manager Boy Abunda): ?Yummy and fun lunch at Mamou with good, good friends.?
Kim on the A-List
Kim Chiu was elected to the ABS-CBN A-List via a special VIP pass event thrown by StarStudio Magazine (a network publication) at The Manor Superclub in Pasig City.
?The Kim Chiu Thanksgiving Party? was an all-pink, star-studded event. Among her guests were Gerald Anderson, Melissa Ricks and fashion designer Hindy Weber-Tantoco, Erich Gonzales, Beauty Gonzales, Joaqui Valdez, Fred Payawan and Ram Sagad.
A special audio-visual presentation of her journey to stardom surprised even Kim. The presentation included greetings from ABS-CBN Publishing big boss Ernie Lopez and Kim?s ?ASAP? co-stars Gary Valenciano, Piolo Pascual, Rafael Rossel, John Lloyd Cruz, Jake Cuenca, Angelica Panganiban and Matt Evans.

Precious letters
BERLIN?A collection of 130 letters and short notes written by the late German actress Marlene Dietrich sold Wednesday for euro3,000 ($4,200), an auction house said.
The Berlin-born film legend?s husky voice and smoldering eyes seduced audiences for more than four decades. After leaving Germany in the 1930s, she defied Adolf Hitler?s call to return home during World War II. She became a United States citizen and performed for American troops, living in California and Paris until her death in 1992, at age 90.
The letters were written to Swedish costume designer Max Goldstein, who died in 2008 in Paris at age 83.
The collection was sold to a private telephone bidder, and Berlin?s J.A. Stargardt auction house did not give any details about the purchaser. Associated Press
