MANILA, Philippines?Anak TV has released A midyear list of the people?s choice for the most child-sensitive TV programs as adjudged by 4,104 jurors nationwide. Ceremonies honoring the programs will be held in December, along with the other winners yet to be declared in the third quarter.

ABS-CBN and Net 25 led the midyear list with six and five winners, respectively, while GMA Network and NBN had three each. QTV, IBC, Studio 23 and UNTV have one seal each.

Seal

The programs deemed fit to sport the Anak TV seal are ?Kabuhayang Swak na Swak,? ?Matanglawin,? ?May Bukas Pa,? ?Salamat Dok,? ?Sineskwela? and ?Wonder Mom? (ABS-CBN); ?Art Angel,? ?Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho? and ?Wish Ko Lang? (GMA Network); ?Asin at Ilaw? (IBC); ?Homepage,? ?I-News,? ?In Good Shape,? ?Spoon? and ?Moments? (Net 25); ?Code Red,? ?Power to Unite? and ?The Young Once? (NBN); ?Kids on Q? (QTV); ?Gourmet Everyday? (Studio 23) and ?Doc on TV? (UNTV).

The morning programs of the major networks made it to the semifinals, but the second level jury shot the programs down because of the daily news stories that showed gruesome scenes.

The annual derby began in Iloilo in April with the help of child-sensitive TV advocates like Columbia?s, Negros Navigation, Splash Corp., Hallmark, Accel and PLDT. The jurors are all adults from various sectors of Philippine society.

Process

The announcement of the midyear winners comes in the heels of the reconstituted vision of the foundation, the result of an arduous process of review and projection held by the foundation?s trustees recently. The new vision states, ?We are passionate advocates of positive values, good citizenship, and the holistic development of children?whose influence and collective efforts harness the power of responsible TV.?

The current president of Anak TV is Roberto del Rosario; its secretary general is Mag Cruz Hatol, while Mikee Cojuangco Jaworski is the chief spokesperson.
