THE ?WOWOWEE? show at Lake Tahoe in Nevada last week was ordered cut short by the local fire police, who feared the program?s 30-minute fireworks display would endanger the audience, show host Willie Revillame told Philippine Daily Inquirer Entertainment.

?The police officials were just being careful,? Revillame said in a text message on Saturday. ?Okey naman ?yon [That?s okay].?

The show was held at the 7,000-capacity Harvey?s Outdoor Arena. ?The people who came to watch understood,? The host reported.

Revillame said organizers of the show failed to inform the production team that pyrotechnics were prohibited. ?It was not mentioned in our contract,? he explained.

Actress Anne Curtis was not able to finish her song number, while comedian Pokwang failed to perform altogether. Singer Charice Pempengco only got to sing one out of her three-song lineup.

?Wowowee? had another show on Sunday at the Tacoma Dome in Washington.
