WORD OF MOUTH
Delicious burger discovery

MANILA, Philippines ? Recently, we?ve been spending a lot of time in the vicinity of Araneta Coliseum in Cubao because of the UAAP games. Since those events were always jam-packed, it was best to park far away from the Big Dome?like the Ali Mall area?to avoid heavy traffic or the hassle of finding a parking space.

Ready-to-cook dishes

To kill time, I would go around SM supermarket?s fresh food section and check out ready-to-cook dishes. You?ll be amazed by some of the items the place offers.

The early trip to Cubao also gave me enough time to have a snack at my latest ?discovery?: Slammers Burger, a burger joint in a corner of the mall across KFC and Shakey?s on P. Tuason ave.

It was interesting to see the delicious, bite-size burger freshly cooked: An all-beef square patty on a moist and soft bun, topped with a combination of mayo and catsup. The bun was soft, and the burger patty was juicy?with a mouth-watering aroma. I also loved their crunchy, freshly cooked crisscross fries.

Also very good were the grilled chicken sandwich (a square-shaped fillet, topped with coleslaw) and the crispy, deep-fried fish fillet. I was told the burger joint has other branches in the metropolis (one of them is in Greenhills).

So, the next time you?re in Cubao, check out Slammers Burger for a taste of their delicious, all-American burgers and other yummy treats. What a discovery!

Happy eating!
