7-day shoot with 200 stars

KAPAMILYA STARS—200 of them led by Sarah Geronimo, Piolo Pascual, KC Concepcion, Billy Crawford, Erik Santos, Mark Bautista, Rachelle Ann Go, Yeng Constantino, Jed Madela, Nina, Sitti, Aiza Seguerra, Richard Poon, Duncan Ramos and Pinoy Dream Academy kids—perform the song in ABS-CBN’s Christmas station ID.

With the theme, “Bro, Ikaw Ang Star ng Pasko” (referring to the Christ character in the popular drama series, “May Bukas Pa”), the song was written by Robert Labayen, creative communication management head; music by Marcus and Amber Davis.

The holiday station ID will be launched tonight after the lighting of the network’s “Parol ni Bro” (to be telecast on “TV Patrol”), officially ushering in the Christmas season. A network statement said the very special production is dedicated to “those who are rebuilding their homes and their lives” after the devastation caused by recent calamities.

Recording took four days in ABS-CBN studios, and involved the stars, plus a children’s choir and a string quartet. Filming took seven days, in the studios and on location, with some 150 “Kapamilyas” joining their idols.

Some of the scenes were shown in Barangay Banaba in San Mateo, one of the hardest hit by Tropical Storm “Ondoy.”
