MANILA, Philippines?The defunct Kanlaon Broadcasting System has organized a celebration to mark RPN 9?s inaugural broadcast 40 years ago, with a reunion dinner, ball and private show on Nov. 14 at the new KB Studios on Marcos Highway across Town and Country Village, in Cainta.
Kitchie Benedicto Paulino, executive chair of the organizing committee, invites all employees, talents, production and engineering personnel who worked in RPN 9, BBC 2, IBC 13, City2 Television, CNDE 4, SMI CaTV, AM and FM radio and provincial stations between 1969 and 1986 to confirm attendance with co-chair Salvii Casino today. At its peak in the 1970s and early ?80s, KBS was the dominant broadcasting network and had the biggest stars in its stable: Dolphy, Nora Aunor, Vilma Santos, Sharon Cuneta, Maricel Soriano, Janice de Belen, Snooky, Niño Muhlach, Inday Badiday, Johnny de Leon and Rod Navarro.
