MANILA, Philippines—Two Filipino movies won top prizes in the 36th International Independent Film Festival in Brussels on Nov. 8. Mike Sandejas’ “Dinig Sana Kita” bagged the Grand Prix in the International Deaf Cinema section, while Lou Veloso won Best Actor for “Colorum” in the International Competition.
The news was relayed by Sandejas who attended the fest in Belgium.
“I’m here to learn how other countries do Deaf cinema,” he said via SMS. Veloso, who’s in Manila, said he’s “excited” over his first international honor. Bayani San Diego Jr.
