RUSHES
Philandering 101

MANILA, Philippines—A spy overhears this conversation between Controversial Celebrity and Action Star:

CC confides in AS about rumors of his extra-marital adventures. AS advises CC not to take his Girl du Jour to five-star hotels, “where you will surely get recognized.”

Consider the privacy offered by motels instead, AS counsels. CC protests: “What about my bodyguards?”

AS replies: “Leave them outside. Just text them when you’re finished.”

That’s Philandering 101.

Splitsville rumor

Seems show biz and politics just don’t mix.

Talent Manager and Politician-Husband have reportedly called it quits. An insider claims that TM has found a new love.

Kapamilya-to-Kapuso

Since Promising Comedian never got the big break over at the Kapamilya network, the Kapuso channel entered frame.

PC has moved to GMA 7—away from Rival Comic, whose manager did everything to stall PC’s career. Was it because PC is a threat to RC?

Engaged!

Ciara Sotto, who’s making a big-screen comeback as cousin Sharon Cuneta’s obedient daughter in “Mano Po 6,” has found Mr. Right.

A source confirmed that she is engaged to Jojo Oconer, who works in Tony Tuveria’s APT Entertainment. Tuviera is producer of “Eat Bulaga,” where Ciara’s dad, Tito Sotto, is a co-host.

The wedding is reportedly set next year. Ex-BF John Lloyd Cruz’s loss is Jojo’s gain.

Songbird villainess

There’s talk that singer-actress Regine Velasquez has agreed to play the role of inter-stellar villainess Planet Woman on GMA 7’s “Darna,” starring Marian Rivera.

Regine has donned the super-heroine costume once; this time, she will be contravida to Marian Rivera.

The Planet Woman role was originally essayed by Rosanna Ortiz in the 1970s “Darna” films that starred Vilma Santos.

False tweet

Contrary to some Twitter posts, Kapuso hunk JC de Vera is in the pink of health. It was Twitted about that he needed a blood transfusion because of leukemia. A source close to the actor said De Vera had denied the report.

“It didn’t come out in his own site,” said the source. “He is currently taping for GMA 7’s new Christmas mini-series starring with Susan Roces.”

Top of the talk shows

For those who missed last weekend’s gabfests on TV. (And why we are moved, if we are moved.)

Wendy Valdez, on what she learned from her marriage to Bruce Quebral:

“After naming ikasal, doon na nag-sink in ang reality na ang buhay, hindi parang fairy tale na ’pag naghalikan ang mga bida, happily ever after na.” (We could have told her that.)

Ogie Alcasid, on ex-wife Michelle Van Eimeren’s wedding to Mark Morrow:

“Michelle is still the mother of my kids. Mark is now part of our family in the same manner that, I suppose, Regine (Velasquez) is part of theirs.” (Operative word, “suppose”?)

Mark Herras, on reports he got a starlet pregnant:

“Tawa lang ako nang tawa … sige ilabas ninyo kahit ano … magpakita ng ebidensiya … alam ko naman sa sarili ko na wala.”

Yasmien Kurdi, on working with JC de Vera again:

“Huwag na muna. Baka … matawag na naman akong desperada.” (Good answer.)

JC’s reaction:

“Siyempre sad ako dahil for me, work yon … Tingin ko, kapag nagkasama kami ulit, magpa-patch things up din. Kusa na lang mawawala yun.” (Promise?)

Jinkee Pacquiao, asked if rumors of husband Manny Pacquiao’s alleged affair with Krista Ranillo has affected their marriage:

“Basta nag-uusap kami … Kahit ano ang sabihin ng ibang tao diyan, masama o ma-
ganda, basta kami, inaayos namin yung aming family.” (Operative word, “inaayos.”)

Matt Ranillo III’s reaction to the rumors:

“People are amused with negativism than national honor, cultivate hate than love.” (Uh.)
