Stage scarier than the ring

MANILA, Philippines??Singing is more scary for me than fighting,? said Manny Pacquiao, who performed in a GMA 7-show at the SM Mall of Asia on Friday to celebrate his historic victory.

Pacquiao sang five songs during the tribute program, ?Pitong Panalo Pacquiao,? for his seventh world boxing title win in Las Vegas on Nov. 14. He performed ?Lambada,? ?Born For You,? ?Awitin Mo, Isasayaw Ko? and ?Lahing Pinoy,? with his band Calsada; and a duet with ?Britain?s Got Talent? discovery Madonna Decena on ?Sometimes When We Touch,? which he earlier sang on the US TV show, ?Jimmy Kimmel Live.?

At the MOA bash, Pacquiao was joined by his wife Jinkee and kids Jemuel, Michael and Princess. The youngest, 11-month-old Queen Elizabeth, stays in GenSan. Jinkee sang along with her husband, who also handed out T-shirts to fans.

Pacquiao was tightly guarded by his own ?PSG? (Pacquiao Security Group), making it impossible for entertainment writers to get near him. He was whisked away right after the show.

The event was hosted by Kapuso stars Arnel Ignacio and Carla Abellana. Arnel Pineda, lead singer of Journey, dedicated ?We Are the Champions? to the champ.

Jay Durias, Wency Cornejo, Luke Mejares, Kris Lawrence, Jay-R, Jan Nieto and Kyla also performed.

?SOP? talents Chynna Ortaleza, Ryza Cenon, Mico Aytono, Edgar Allan and Rainier Castillo were featured in a hip hop dance number. Rich Asuncion, Mocha and Krissa Mae did a provocative production number with the Abstract Dancers.

Present at the event were network execs Gilberto Duavit, Wilma Galvante and Bang Arespacochaga, Environment Secretary Lito Atienza and Deputy National Security Adviser Chavit Singson.
