MANILA, Philippines?Veteran News Anchor and UNTV 37?s station manager Jay Sonza together with jukebox queen Imelda Papin filed their certificate of candidacies Tuesday for vice president and senator positions, respectively, at the Commission on Elections headquarters in Manila.
Papin and Sonza are running under the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan party.
?Wala ako sa kinalalagyan ko ngayon kung hindi dahil sa suporta ng taong bayan. Kaya naman nais kong ibalik ang serbisyo sa Senado,? said Papin, a former vice governor of Camarines Sur.
KBL, established by the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos Sr., still considers Representative Ferdinand ?Bongbong? Marcos, Jr. and Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile as its adopted candidates. Marcos has joined the senatorial slate of the Nacionalista Party of Senator Manny Villar.
