My wish for the coming year is for typhoon victims to be able to rebuild their lives. My personal prayer is more of a ?thank you? to God. I am very grateful that my family and Ogie?s (Alcasid) family were unharmed during the recent calamities, and that we?re all safe. I?m happy that the entertainment industry is slowly recovering, too. Hopefully, the good news will continue. My wish for the whole country is for us to elect a new president peacefully. I hope people will finally wake up. A lot of Filipinos are angry and frustrated because, at the moment, it looks as if we can?t do anything. But next year, come election time, we can all make a big difference. I hope people will think very carefully before voting.

I wish that more people would support local projects. None of us entertainers would be here if it were not for our supporters. They give us work. Sana hindi sila magsawa [I hope they won?t get tired of us].

My only wish for myself is that I remain healthy, so that I can fulfill all my responsibilities. I can?t ask for anything more; I?m doing five shows now. For my family, I want to bond with them more often. I want them to forget their problems. I hope my son Calyx will grow up to be well-behaved. He can be makulit [persistent] and stubborn kasi. As for the movie industry, I hope it will be able to recover its prestige and produce more quality films. I hope there will be more experimental movies ? so that people?s views on films would broaden as well. I hope more people will watch indie movies. For the country, I pray for peaceful elections. Months before the election, we already witnessed a tragedy, the Maguindanao massacre. I pray for all violence to end.

Danica Sotto
I wish that the network war would stop. I know there?s such a thing as friendly competition and I think it should be that way, but sometimes when we watch TV, things get really ugly. Instead of putting each other down, I wish we would all think of how we can improve our shows. Everything can be done in an orderly manner. Let?s check our hearts, everyone.
