MANILA, Philippines ? Cristine Reyes is piqued. The sexy actress wants to know why the text message she sent to a colleague nine months ago about her ex-boyfriend Dennis Trillo has caused a misunderstanding between her and Heart Evangelista.
?I sent Rufa Mae [Quinto] a text message about Dennis and Heart, but this was way back in March, when Dennis and I were still together. We?ve long broken up. I don?t understand why people are reacting just now,? an annoyed Cristine told entertainment writers last week.
Cristine admitted that the text message had been a warning to Heart to ?steer clear? of Dennis. ?I was jealous of her. I saw her being touchy-feely with Dennis on their show, ?SOP.? But that was a long, long time ago,? Cristine told the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
The sexy actress added: ?I thought things were already okay between me and Heart when we met at the birthday party of Tita Annabelle (Rama, mom of her ?Patient X? costar Richard Gutierrez). I asked Richard to introduce us. Our talk was brief but pleasant.?
What bothers Cristine is the rumor that she still sends Heart text messages. ?When I heard, I immediately asked Ate Ruffa [Gutierrez] to tell Heart that I had nothing to do with it. Why would I do that? She should?ve confirmed the identity of the sender before talking about it publicly.?
In an interview on ?Showbiz Central,? Heart said she was getting nasty text messages from an anonymous sender.
?Some people are just trying to make me look like I?m still in love with Dennis,? Cristine argued. ?I?ve moved on. Heart should know how awful this feels. She has just come from a breakup herself.?
Cristine stars in ?Ang Darling Kong Aswang,? an entry to the ongoing Metro Manila Film Festival. She plays an aswang who falls in love with a mortal (Vic Sotto) and has to fight for it.
Despite losing her home and a car when storm ?Ondoy? hit the country in September, Cristine remains ?grateful.? She has bought a new house and is moving into it in February, in time for her 21st birthday. ?The bad things don?t measure up to the good things that happened to me this year,? she said.
