Filipino in finals of Project Runway USA Season 7

YOUNG Filipino designer Jay Nicolas Sario is set to compete in Project Runway USA Season 7 which will premiere on January 14, 2010 on the Lifetime Network.

?Project Runway? is the most prestigious reality television series for budding fashion designers. Now on 7th Season, this TV show is host by supermodel and fashion maven Heidi Klum. The judges are Michael Kors and Nina Garcia as they weigh in on the best and worst of the runway.

The hit series provides up and coming designers with an opportunity to launch their careers in fashion, under the watchful eye of mentor and Liz Claiborne Chief Creative Officer Tim Gunn.

?Project Runway? and ?Models of the Runway? are executive produced by Jon Murray and Sara Rea of Bunim-Murray Productions (?The Real World?). Heidi Klum, Desiree Gruber and Jane Cha of New York City?based Full Picture also executive produce both series. John Miller and Barbara Schneeweiss oversee the production on behalf of The Weinstein Company.

There are 16 budding designers participating in the competition. Most of the designers are from the United States, one from Mexico, China, Dominican Republic and Ivory Coast. Jay is the one and only Filipino designer in the show.

A native of Laoag City, Jay Jay now resides in San Francisco. The 31 year old before joining the competition was Visual merchandiser and lead stylist for Gap Inc. kids? division, and in his curriculum vitae, he mentioned that his favorite fashion designer was Alexander McQueen.

Jay is really excited to be part of the competition, and proud to be representing the Philippines against the best young designers from around the world in Season 7 of Project Runway. Let?s support Jay in his quest to put the country on the map of the fashion world.
