MANILA, Philippines? We?d like to share these thought-provoking Asian proverbs with you:

Beginning is easy, continuing is hard.

One kind word can warm three winter months.

The mouth is the door of evil.

The tongue should be feared more than the sword.

Even a fish wouldn?t get into trouble if it kept its mouth shut.

He who can see a louse as far away as China isn?t aware of the elephant on his nose.

A person who has many faults is usually the first to criticize others.

A frog in a well doesn?t know the great sea.

An apprentice near a temple will recite the scriptures untaught.

Life without endeavor is like entering a jewel mine and coming out of it with empty hands.

Good deeds

A truly righteous man does good deeds without letting his beneficiaries know. He does them freely and doesn?t expect something in return. When treating sentient beings, he must not discriminate between those who are close to him and those whom he hardly knows.

Be respectful to those who are above you, and be compassionate to those below you.

Sincerity and innocence will always triumph in the end.
