Downplayed romance

Lovi Poe has been trying to downplay her romance with Ronald Singson by giving trite ?show biz? answers when interrogated about him. Perhaps she?s just wary of being branded as a girl, who jumps from one relationship to another.

Someone privy to her affairs insists that Jolo Revilla and Ronald ?overlapped? in Lovi?s love life. A close friend of Ronald?s revealed: ?It seems he?s not hiding their relationship naman. In his Facebook status, he recently posted that he had the best lobster sashimi with Lovi in Shangri-la Mactan and he couldn?t ask for anything more.?

Hmmm...not even more girls to keep up with his track record?

I cornered Ogie Alcasid to ask if his honey Regine Velasquez is really moving to ABS-CBN, and to know how he feels about the reformatting of ?S.O.P.??

?Out of respect for GMA 7, I?d rather not comment,? he replied. ?All I can say is that I?m helping out with the production of our show.?

With Ogie at the helm, how can ?S.O.P.? fail?

The concerned wife of a PBA player sent me this text message: ?I?m not a Kris Aquino fan but since I?m also married to a PBA player, I understand what she?s going through. I see Mayen Austria at practice sessions of different PBA teams parading, with food as presents. She tries to befriend whoever player will spare her some attention. PBA wives despise her because she?s desperately seeking attention. This is in defense, not of Kris as the famous celeb that she is, but as Mrs. James Yap.?

Just like in basketball, marriage is a series of offense-defense strategies. A couple, especially a high-profile one like James and Kris, must have an effective ?game plan? so that one of them won?t ?change court.?

Time for the early (runner) birds and the (book) worms to join forces. Now Dong doesn?t just have a fan club but a RUN (for funds) CLUB. Kudos to you, amigo!

The mother-daughter tandem of Jean and Jennica Garcia top-bill GMA 7?s ?Sinenovela Presents? Gilda Olvidado?s ?Ina Kasusuklaman Ba Kita?? which premieres this afternoon on ?Dramarama sa Hapon.? It redefines love, commitment and sacrifice of a mother to her child.

Jean plays the strong-willed Alvina while Jennica, the kind-hearted Rizzi. They will be reprising the roles played by Rita Gomez and Lorna Tolentino in this TV version of the ?80s blockbuster.

Before Jean had Jennica, we used to hang out during her ?That?s Entertainment? days. Back then, Jean thought pinaglilihian ko siya because I was fond of sending her little gifts. Soon enough, it was she who was naglilihi when she was pregnant with Jennica.

Seeing how both of them are shining now makes me feel proud. It?s good to know that even if they are already way up there, they will always be within my reach.

Happy birthday to my fab ?sis? Vicki Belo. Here?s to many more years of your well-lived life of being well-loved!

Kudos to my good friend Butch Raquel, GMA Network Vice President for Corporate Communications, for being reelected president of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) for 2010-2111. The new PRSP Board, which was elected last Jan. 8, will have its oath-taking at the Anvil Awards Night on Feb. 26 at the Edsa Plaza Hotel.
