2 hurt, 1 die in Basilan due to ‘rido’

MANILA, Philippines?Two people were hurt and another was killed in a supposed ?rido? between two warring clans in Basilan province that began on Sunday, police said on Wednesday.

In a report, Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) acting police director Senior Superintendent Bienvenido Latag said that the fire fight between the groups of Mashud Habi Agtah and Jarnang Mohammad started midnight of January 31.

The two groups clashed in the village of Babag, Bubuan Island. Latag said the group of Mohammad was attacked by that of Agtah.

As a result of the firefight, two people were wounded from Mohammad?s side, identified as Calip Jikiri and Sali Lidjuman.

Latag said another person died in the clash, identified as Halid Bainuddin.
