LOTUS POND
Managing a healthy lifestyle

MANILA, Philippines? We?re all managers and directors of our bodies, which are populated by various living units?cells, tissues, organs, etc. We are tasked to maintain them in proper functioning order. The seemingly inconsequential actions of eating, breathing, sleeping, working and thinking greatly affect our bodies. Too much sugar, too little sleep, overwork, lack of exercise and toxic air can throw our ?little universe? into a state of chaos.

Actions

Sadly, we are either unaware, insensitive or simply uncaring about the effect our actions have on the habitat we live in?until it?s too late. Our lack of concern leads to weakness or illness, which then affects us mentally?and financially.

Our activities in this world aren?t stress-free, and our bodies are often on heightened alert. Thus, we have to find and settle into a suitable lifestyle that doesn?t just involve our physical or mental well-being, but the spiritual, as well. When we?re conscientious about taking care of our bodies, we turn our efforts into positive and healing actions.

First, we need to exercise and eat properly. Thereafter, we shed unwanted pounds that would otherwise add to aging.

We also need to let go of unfavorable feelings that exacerbate stress-related disorders and put a stop to the abuses we expose our bodies to.

If we are caring and compassionate managers of our ?little universe,? we will end up happier?and healthier.
