MANILA, Philippines?Alumnae of St. Pedro Poveda College recently bestowed noted obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Rebecca ?Becky? Singson, with the first Povedans Outstanding in Work Ethics and Reforms (Power) award for her contributions in the field of health.
Singson, chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St Luke?s Medical Center in Global City, is an advocate of maternal care and health issues for women. In her acceptance speech, she thanked her alma mater for providing her with the excellent preparation that propelled her to excellence in her many endeavors. She shared: ?Of all the awards I have received in my life, I cherish this one the most.?
The Power Awards was launched in 2008 by the Asociacion de Alumnas de Poveda Foundation, led by Patty Ong-Loanzon and Virma Vergel de Dios.
