MANILA, Philippines?Everyone in the business loves Tita Boots Anson-Roa.

On her 65th birthday last Jan. 30, the dedicated executive director of the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (Mowelfund) threw a big bash?with her pet charity in mind.

?I made my birthday an excuse to raise funds for the Mowelfund,? Boots said. She had gathered 300 friends and family members at the Mowelfund compound in Quezon City.

The party made P400,000, ?a big help for the foundation?s monthly expenses.?

One single donor, singer Jose Mari Chan, gave P65,000 to honor each year in Boots? life. ?It made me wish I was older,? she jested.

Prior to the party, a Mass was celebrated by family friends? Bishop Raul Martirez, Fr. Sonny Ramirez and Fr. Larry Faraon.

The VIP well-wishers were led by Roa?s favorite leading man, former President Joseph ?Erap? Estrada; ABS-CBN president Charo Santos, Marichu Maceda, German Moreno, veteran stars Mila del Sol, Delia Razon, Gloria Romero, Caridad Sanchez, Pepito Rodriguez and other members of the Balik Samahan group.

?Erap came straight from a sortie in South Cotabato,? Boots reported.

Her bash was extra special, she said, because all her siblings (Nonoy, Monching, Vicky and Alvin) and children (Leah, Joey, Chiqui and Ben) were present.

It?s her third birthday without late husband Pete Roa. ?This is why,? she explained, ?it?s important to bond with my family.?

Singing champs Laarni Lozada of ABS-CBN and La Diva of GMA 7 serenaded the guests.

To cap the evening, Roa and her family, backed by a dance troupe from Antipolo, tripped the light fantastic, going from Latin, to ballroom, to hip-hop!

Imagine the always prim-and-proper Boots swinging to ?Nobody, Nobody But You.?

?I don?t go ballroom dancing at all; I don?t have the time,? she confessed. ?Fortunately, the family consists of natural dancers?including my grandchildren Randy, Nick and Sabrina. We enjoyed ourselves.?

The party wrapped up at 1:30 a.m. but Tita Boots could?ve danced all night.
