Dollywood
No trouble spoofing Marlene

It was such a delight to interview ?American Idol? Kris Allen, Jabbawockeez and Boyce Avenue with my newspaper colleagues on the online show ?My Foursome,? on PLDT?s Watchpad.

Kris used to travel the world as a missionary. Now he?s globetrotting as he spreads his music. He?s the only ?American Idol? who?s married.

Doesn?t his wife Katy get jealous of his fans? ?Not at all,? he says. ?She keeps me sane. Without her, I would be a wreck.?

He confessed that he never expected to win ?AI? and that he couldn?t wait for the competition to end so that he could go back to his normal life. But after bagging the title, his world is now far from what it used to be.

The three gorgeous brothers, who comprise Boyce Avenue, said they uploaded their acoustic numbers on YouTube just for the heck of it and they got the biggest surprise of their lives when they became an Internet sensation.

They chose to call themselves Boyce Avenue because it?s the name of the street they grew up on.

The cool Jabbawockeez dancers swear that the thought of disbanding in the future is unthinkable because they no longer consider themselves just as a dance group but as a family. What a triple delight it was to get up close and personal with three ?kings? of the music/dance scene.

I?m glad that Channel V?s top honcho Ronald Singson went out of his way to clarify what I wrote in my previous column about him having me banned at the press conference of the foreign artists I mentioned above?because he didn?t exactly like what I wrote about him and Lovi Poe.

It turned out to be a case of miscommunication. Our common friend, Channel V exec JM Rodriguez, intervened so Ronald and I were finally able to meet at Shangri-La Edsa after the press con.

Being the true gentleman that he is, he apologized. I thought he would get mad because of the revealing pics of Lovi and him that I provided, but he didn?t.

?I respect your opinion as much as anybody else?s,? he says. ?Lovi and I are not hiding our relationship but neither are we announcing it.?

Seeing how happily dazed he and Lovi were that night tells me that Cupid got his mission accomplished in time for V-day!

Pokwang is not wary at all that her spoofing Marlene Aguilar may get her in trouble. ?So far wala pa namang nagpro-protesta,? she says, laughing. ?Pag na meet ko si Marlene, pasasalamatan ko siya kasi binigyan nya ako ng bagong character to impersonate.?

Pokey is also happy about another character, Lovely, that she portrays in ABS-CBN?s ?Your Song Presents: Feb-Ibig!? every Sunday after ?ASAP.? It?s the story of a woman whose heart has become jaded because she always ends up getting hurt.

In real life, Pokey says that she will never let money or fame take over her heart. ?Tama na protektahan ang pera at katanyagan,? she explains. ?Pero hindi dapat umabot sa punto na makalimutan mo nang umibig.?

How does she feel that PBB housemate Melai is being groomed to be the next ?Pokwang?? ?I?m flattered,? she says. ?I?d be willing to do a project with her. Sayang ang raket (laughs).?

Does she find Melai funny? ?Nakakaaliw siya,? she quips. ?Pag nag-meet kami, bibigyan ko siya ng pointers. Mahirap magbigay ng todo-todo na comment about her. Baka ma-misinterpret ako.?

Watch out for the wacky combination of ?MelaWang.?

The Kapuso network lives up to its name by making hearts flutter this love month via its newest romantic drama, ?First Time,? which premieres today before ?24 Oras.? It is top-billed by fast-rising teen stars Barbie Forteza, Joshua Dionisio and Jhake Vargas. They portray the young Jodi, Cholo and Tristan in the Pinoy adaptation of ?Stairway To Heaven.?

The coming-of-age tale centers on teenagers who meet one summer at the beach. After they pass a test, they will face another challenge when a deep, dark secret from the past unfolds, one that will make them question their real identities.

Bayani Agbayani, who has returned to GMA 7, is part of the cast. Did he leave ABS-CBN with a heavy heart? ?Wala naman akong tampo sa ABS,? he clarifies. ?Nanghinayang lang ako sa panahon na wala akong ginagawang project sa kanila. Kung ako ang masusunod tatanda na ako as a Kapuso.?

No hurts in his heart.
