MANILA, Philippines--?I?M ONLY HUMAN. I?VE DONE THINGS that I?m not proud of,? said John Lloyd Cruz, currently the subject of nasty tabloid reports.

John Lloyd was supposedly sighted, very drunk and unable to get up, in a Makati bar recently. That was why, it is said, rumored girlfriend Ruffa Gutierrez posted this on her Twitter account: ?Sayang ka? I only fight for someone who is worth it. If not, then goodbye and good riddance.?

At the press launch of his latest film, ?Miss You Like Crazy,? on Wednesday, the actor said, ?What matters more than mishaps are the lessons you can share with others about them.?

In reference to the film?s title, John Lloyd was asked whether he had missed anyone so much that it drove him crazy. The actor replied: ?I know who everyone is talking about. We still talk a lot, so I can?t really say I miss her like crazy.?

What he was missing at the moment, he said, was his bed. ?With my tight schedule, I miss it like crazy.?

His co-star Bea Alonzo and director Cathy Garcia-Molina are in Malaysia for additional scenes. The movie opens on Feb. 24.

John Lloyd and Bea were last seen on-screen in ?One More Chance? in 2007. But the two films he made with Sarah Geronimo??You Changed My Life? (2007) and its sequel ?A Very Special Love? (2009)?were the bigger hits.

Nervous

Bea said the record success of Lloydie?s pairing with Sarah made her nervous. ?I thought, ?Saan na ako ilalagay?? But they worked really hard for that,? she said. ?I asked myself, ?What would the audience possibly want from me without John Lloyd?? Happily, my movie with Sam Milby (?And I Love You So,? in 2009) did well.?

Have they never felt attracted to each other? Replied John Lloyd: ?We value this partnership, so we protect it. When we start making people believe that we?re an item [off-cam] even if we?re not, that?s the end of our team-up.?

Bea added: ?We don?t force ourselves on each other just to be effective on-screen. I do find John Lloyd attractive, but so do 70 percent of the women in the country.?

?And the remaining 30 percent?? he teased. ?Sila ?yung mga gising na sa katotohanan,? Bea quipped.
