GMA 7 TALENT PRINCESS VIOLAGO made quite an impression when she first burst into the scene as the tiara-wearing roving reporter on ?S Files? four years ago.

She fit the role of ?social butterfly,? living up to her royal moniker quite effortlessly.

Now that she?s back in the biz after a two-year break, the ?Bubble Gang? star wants to live down the ?Princess? persona.

Living in a spacious home teeming with Lladro figures, as well as antique religious sculptures, doesn?t quite erase the posh image, though.

To say that the Violago home is expansive is an understatement. The two-story residence occupies 1,000 square meters. Total lot area is 1,200 square meters.

?My mom and brother Anthony decorated the place with the help of interior designer Tony Adriano,? Princess related. ?It?s very European.?

The foyer area is adorned with antique icons from Russia, along with a 200-year-old Santo Niño from France.

Her father, businessman Oscar Violago, said that his wife is deeply religious and has filled every nook and cranny with imahens from all over the world.

Princess believes she inherited her artistic streak from her mom.

?My mom is very creative,? she said proudly.

Mom Bootsie, who?s undergoing treatment for colon cancer, is Princess? pillar of strength. ?My mom?s illness has brought the family closer,? said the youngest child in the family.

The den is decorated with cross-stitched family portraits made by her mom. Her dad?s office showcases paintings done by mother and daughter.

?Our teacher is Nestor Villanueva, brother-in-law of painter Romulo Galicano,? Princess noted.

She hung her own oil paintings, from her earliest childhood doodles to her latest works, in her bedroom.

?Painting relaxes me. It?s my therapy. I like doing still life paintings, scenes from my travels abroad,? she said.

Her bedroom reflects her own personal design aesthetic, she explained.

?Our house is so not me. My very own house would be modern minimalist, more relaxed. It would have a more organic feel. I?d like the floor to be wooden so I could sit or walk barefoot on it.?

Personal space
In the meantime, Princess decorated her personal space in the likeness of her future home.

?My bedroom is super comfy. It?s the coziest nook in the house. It?s a lot like a spa,? she said.

The room used to be painted maroon, until she read online that that color makes people hungry or keeps them awake. ?I couldn?t sleep for a while, so I changed the walls to beige.?

For an airy yet classy ambience, she spruced up the place with white drapes and exquisite pieces from Europe, like Versace curtain accents and a couch from Gucci.

?Since the European pieces are from my parents, I displayed souvenirs from my travels along with my paintings there, to give it my own touch.?

She?s especially proud of the Gucci sitting corner in her room ?not because of the designer couch but because of the rose petal throw pillows she got from a Rockwell bazaar.

?The pillow covers are locally made,? she pointed out.

Centerpiece of the room is her four-poster bed.

?Ever since I was a kid I?ve always wanted my room to look like a spa. I?ve been pampering myself with home massages since I was 10 years old,? Princess said.

Apart from getting massages, she surfs the Net or watches DVDs of her favorite US series ?Mad Men,? ?Criminal Minds,? ?24? and ?Lost? when at home.

Chick flicks
She?s also hooked on chick flicks and local soaps.

?I try to avoid stress so I seldom go out. I?m turning into a grandmother!? she exclaimed in jest.

She said she learned to cook and bake by hanging out with her nannies in the kitchen when she was a kid. The afternoon of the Living Stars visit, she whipped up baked spaghetti.

She hopes to invest in a restaurant someday, to put to good use her culinary skills.

She recently put up a Yogurbud (frozen yogurt) franchise at Shangri-La mall. She?s also selling fashion accessories online, from her multiply and Facebook sites.

?I?m quite business-minded. I hope to follow in my dad?s footsteps,? Princess said.

People think she lives the charmed life of, well, a princess. But at home, she insisted, she shuns tiaras and Armani tees. ?I?m super-normal. I just wear shorts and slippers.?

Another favorite home activity is swimming, and playing with nephews Enzo, Santi and Manu.

?I play with them all the time. I spoil them, but their mom, my sister Malou, wants the kids to learn the value of hard-earned money.?

Which is exactly how they were raised, Princess said.
