ANNE CURTIS admits she had second thoughts about doing a movie with Sam Milby, who was her boyfriend for four years.

?I wasn?t comfortable with the idea. It was true that we had a silent war. ?Di kami nagkikibuan [We weren?t talking to each other], but everything is okay now. We enjoyed making the film. Being comfortable with each other again is really a day-to-day thing,? Anne told a group of writers during a recent gathering for their latest film, ?Babe I Love You,? inside the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City.

In the romantic movie directed by Mae Czarina Cruz, Sam plays a university professor on his way to becoming the next vice dean of his department. But his world turns upside-down when he meets Anne as Sasa Sanchez, a promo girl.

Rediscovery

?Sam and I didn?t talk about the past while we worked. It was better that way, starting with a clean slate,? the 25-year-old actress said.

She said working on the movie also gave her the chance to ?rediscover? Sam. ?We still quarreled a lot on the set, but we easily worked things out.?

Anne and Sam first teamed up ? and fell in love ? while working on the drama series ?Maging Sino Ka Man? in 2006.

Of the years they were together as lovers on and off-screen, Anne said Sam taught her the virtue of patience. ?Seeing how uncomplaining he was, I wanted to be a patient person, too,? she explained. In turn, Sam said, ?Anne taught me to be a gentleman. She pointed out to me that a guy should always say ?Excuse me? to everyone in the room before stepping out.?

No pressure

Asked about the true state of their relationship now, Anne replied, ?I?m enjoying being single. Sam and I are not the type who would force each other to make peace just because we have a movie together. I know that we will talk about what happened to us when we?re both ready.?

?Babe I Love You,? which will be shown in theaters nationwide starting April 3, also features Laurice Guillen, Tetchie Agbayani, Nikki Valdez, AJ Perez and Meagan Young. It is a collaboration between Star Cinema and Viva Films.
