MANILA, Philippines?Singer-actress Regine Velasquez marks a milestone this year, as she turned 40 on April 22.

According to boyfriend, singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid, Regine got her birthday wish this year: A beach holiday with the entire clan.

?We spent four days in Bohol, with her parents and siblings and my mom and dad,? he told Inquirer Entertainment.

Regine has always been vocal about her plan to spend her birthday surrounded by the people she loves dearly in a resort in the province.

Usually they would just troop to nearby beaches in Batangas, but this year they flew to Bohol.

Two months ago, Ogie and Regine visited Tagbilaran City, capital of Bohol, for a pre-Valentine concert.

Then they flew to Cebu for the summer special of their GMA 7 variety show ?Party Pilipinas? this weekend. (She also celebrated her birthday on the Sunday show.)

Being on the road allows the couple a little ?bonding time,? in spite of their busy schedules.

Bohol was a treat for Regine.

?It?s like we?re competing...trying to come up with the best gifts for each other,? she related.

Regine previously gave Ogie a boost in completing his recording studio at home. ?We are doing it slowly because we need to buy a lot of equipment,? she said.

Birthday card

As for Ogie?s gift to her?

?Every year, when Ogie asks me what I want for my birthday, I tell him that a card would suffice. I can buy material things myself. But a birthday card is something I cannot get, no matter how much money I earn,? she said.

As bonus, she said, the card usually comes with a gift and a newly composed love ballad by Ogie.

?He?d sing the new composition to me...then I?d hear that it would be recorded by another artist,? she said. ?I?d confront him and complain, ?I thought that song was for me!? He?d explain that I was his muse, his inspiration.?

To further demonstrate his love for her, he guested on her new Kapuso series ?Diva,? too.

?That was a nice surprise,? she said.

She enjoys doing ?Diva? because it allows her to work with longtime friends Jaya and Rufa Mae Quinto, as well as newcomers Mark Herras and Glaiza de Castro.

?I don?t mind sharing the screen with younger stars,? she said. ?It?s their time now. Anyway, you don?t need to worry when working with the young stars of GMA 7 because they?re pros.?

If life begins at 40, will 2010 mark a new start for Regine, like marriage and parenthood with Ogie?

?I really cannot talk about that yet, but I hope and pray that it will happen someday soon,? she said.

Still, there is much speculation about her future bridal gown. ?Maybe I?d just wear a duster on my wedding day,? she joked.
