KRIS AQUINO?S leave from ABS-CBN talk shows ?The Buzz? and ?SNN? might be temporary.

That?s according to her ?Buzz? co-host and one of two managers, Boy Abunda, who added: ?We don?t know how long this will last.?

Aquino, youngest sister of incoming President Benigno ?Noynoy? Aquino III, recently announced she would quit ?SNN? on June 25 and ?The Buzz? on June 27 after a meeting with ABS-CBN executives last week.

?She doesn?t want to cause problems to her brother?s presidency,? Abunda told Inquirer Entertainment on Thursday. ?Meanwhile she can do other things on TV. She can still host a game show just like ?Pilipinas Game KNB?? She doesn?t need to be in a talk show.?

In her Twitter account, Aquino said that she would likewise stop appearing in the drama series ?Kung Tayo?y Magkakalayo? in mid-August. She hinted on the possibility of hosting a lifestyle/travel program when she returns from a three-week vacation in September.

?Kris does not want to be in a program where she can make comments, opinionate or articulate her personal views,? Abunda said.

According to ABS-CBN corporate communications head Bong Osorio, Aquino wanted to go back to the places she visited during the presidential campaign to personally thank the people for their support. ?She won?t be able to do so if she would continue working on four shows a week,? Osorio pointed out.?

Nasty comments

KC Concepcion, a co-host on ?The Buzz,? understands why Aquino decided to leave the show. ?As a UN ambassador I have limitations. What more if you?re a President?s sister?? said Concepcion, the Philippine ambassador against Hunger for the United Nations World Food Programme. ?I kind of feel sad. She?s leaving just when we were really getting to know each other.?

Abunda said the nasty comments on a Facebook page dedicated to Aquino?s ?despedida? has deeply hurt his friend: ?Tao lang naman siya, nasasaktan [She?s only human, she gets hurt]. But she is combat-trained. She knows how to face the public. She has always been very candid kasi.?

Two months ago, Aquino said that if she would prove to be a liability to her brother?s campaign, she would pack up and continue her career abroad. A ?Kris Aquino?s Despedida? group page was launched on Facebook shortly after Noynoy Aquino posted a commanding lead in the presidential votes tally. Some 24,000 people have joined it at this writing.

In her latest post on Twitter, Kris Aquino quoted a text message from a supporter that her sister, Viel, sent her: ??Please tell Kris we admire her for giving up her talk shows for Noy ... Other politicians are so power-hungry.? Salamat that people realize I?m not a selfish brat, but a sensible sister and a proud mama.?
