SOME lines of the song ?Memory? in ?Cats,? ongoing at the CCP, are done in Filipino by Australian actress Alyse Jai Davies. Lea Salonga, the only Asian cast member, told us that the lyrics were translated by Pete Lacaba. ?Lea knew about my translation of the song as recorded by Barbra Streisand. ?Cats? needed a different version. I did two, and they picked one,? Lacaba said.
