GUTIERREZ Mangansakan II?s ?Limbunan,? an entry in this year?s Cinemalaya, was chosen as the closing film (out of competition) in the International Critics? Week section of the Venice film fest, to be held in Italy in September. The debut films in this parallel section were chosen by representatives of the National Syndicate of Italian Film Critics (SNCCI). ?Limbunan? or ?Bridal Quarters? tells the story of a Maguindanaoan lass who is kept hidden in a room as she awaits her wedding day. ?This is a great honor,? Mangansakan said of the invitation.
