New chief for film council

THE FILM Development Council of the Philippines has found a new head in independent filmmaker Briccio Santos, who?s taking over from economist Rolando S. Atienza, who resigned last month. Santos directed such films as ?Ala Verde, Ala Pobre,? ?Anino ng Setyembre,? ?Ala Suerte, Ala Muerte? and ?Ala Pobre, Ala Suerte.? He was set to receive his appointment papers from Malacañang yesterday. Bayani San Diego Jr.
