The fourth edition of the annual Star Magic Ball, held at the Makati Shangri-La last Sunday, allowed ABS-CBN stars to experience such a simple pleasure, akin to a school soiree.

Even network bosses Gabby Lopez, Freddie Garcia, Johnny Manahan and Charo Santos?the ?faculty??were dressed to the nines.

One guest, however, thought the night was ?ho-hum.?

?Since senior divas like Gretchen Barretto and Ruffa Gutierrez were no-shows, the night was a bit boring,? said a guest.

Thankfully, comic Pokwang was around to add spice to the heady fashion brew.

?Powkie danced up a storm,? related another guest.

It was a chance for beleaguered stars, like Angelica Panganiban, to forget their troubles for a while and have a blast.

Angelica was with boyfriend Derek Ramsay. ?They looked happy together,? said a witness.

As in all proms, there must be a king and queen.

At this Star Magic Ball, the honors went to John Lloyd Cruz and Maricar Reyes.

Most romantic

Declared Most Romantic were Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee; Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Sotto were named Sparkling Couple; Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson, Best Dressed.

It was a night of star couples, indeed.

Boss Charo was Most Elegant; Bea Alonzo, Most Stylish; and Anne Curtis, Most Glamorous. But comedian Kitkat upstaged all these beauties with her award for being Fashion Forward.
