GAMU, ISABELA, Philippines?Actor Derek Ramsay showed up unannounced last week to help a Christian relief organization hand out housing materials to typhoon victims in Isabela.
Ramsay joined members of World Vision in distributing the materials to 81 families in Dammao village on Dec. 10. They later handed out food packs to 151 children of Cordon town.
Ramsay said he was surprised to see unrepaired houses and toppled power lines still dotting Dammao?s landscape, considering that Typhoon ?Juan? struck the province two months ago.
?We hope to help villagers here get back on their feet as we can see the devastation,? Ramsay said.
Rubilyn Palicpic, 21, a mother of two who received the gifts, said, ?Now we can definitely start rebuilding our house.? Villamor Visaya Jr., Inquirer Northern Luzon
