MANILA, Philippines? What do four people of different ages, backgrounds and pursuits have in common, palanggas?
For these talented and gifted personas, it is ?painting and a love for God and His creation,? although each of them expresses it in his/her unique way, dahlings.
?Choices,? a one of a kind special four-person (three men and one woman) painting exhibit offers the viewer a visual treat?four different artistic interpretations of the world.
Mother and son Marie and David Bonifacio, in paint-spattered jeans, spend Saturday mornings surrounded by oils and acrylics.
The 23-year-old David?s work in oil, ?Places: Imagined and Real,? reflects the wonderful colors of his imagination. This Ateneo de Manila University graduate finds complete satisfaction in helping young people, raising funds and being active in Habitat for Humanity and the Real Life Foundation.
Marie, a University of the Philippines Broadcast Communication graduate and writer, rediscovered painting after two major operations. ?I believe that who you are within comes out in your art, so I like to paint with a peaceful, positive spirit.?
She works with acrylics, fascinated by the transparencies of pure color. Her ?Peace and Passion? has a serene, uplifting, watercolor-like aura. Eight of her paintings were snapped up on opening night faster than you can bat an eyelash, palanggas.
Student Jonathan Murrell, at 17, is the youngest in the group. His oil paintings are reminiscent of the old European Masters. The American, who was born and has lived here for most of his life, loves adobo!
Guided by art teacher Jesse Puertollano, some of Jonathan?s oils have gone to art collectors in the United States and Japan. His latest ?Waterscapes? series inspired by his travels is definitely a visual treat, dahlings.
Jesse is the master teacher and professional artist. Multiawarded as an artist and multitalented (actor, director, production designer and instructor), he is a fantastic product of the UP Fine Arts, no less, dahlings.
Those of us who believe life is a three-ring circus will find his ?Circus? series in oil very interesting. Through his vivid renditions of acrobats and jugglers, you will probably see your multitasking self.
This is the first time this awesome talented group is exhibiting together. Check out the show. For viewing, call 890-3988, or contact Jesse at 0921-3184072.
You won?t regret it, palanggas. They are all winners.

?Star light, star bright, make a wish and win tonight? came to mind as moi watched the Timezone?s 4th Celebrity Open at the Glorietta Activity Center, palanggas.
For this year?s Celebrity Open, 48 stars worked the Timezone machines, determined to win, natch.
Starting with a bang, dahlings, celebrity teams raced to the popular Timezone games: Air Hockey, Superbike, Super Trivia, Daytona, DDR Supernova and, everyone?s favorite, Slam n? Jam.
The crowd cheered, yelled and applauded for their favorite team. With the crowd?s shouts and the machines? deafening sounds, moi could hardly think straight, palanggas.
Champion of the Timezone?s 4th Celebrity Open was the White Team, composed of celebrities Anthony Suntay, handsome Vince Hizon and his eye-catching wife Shaan H., Jinno Rufino, Rob Johnson, and Fiamma?s Paolo Trillo.
