Do you want to have a child you can call your own? Have you longed to have a baby to adopt but felt hesitant to ask questions about adoption?

All these questions can be answered and clarified as the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sub offices in the cities of Cebu, Tagbilaran and Dumaguete will be setting up Adoption Desks in public places starting today until Feb. 9 in observance of ?Adoption Conciousness Day.?

In Cebu City, the desks are located in SM City Cebu and Ayala Center Mall.

The theme for this year?s celebration is ?Isulong Legal na Pag-aampon, hindi simulation?.

The DSWD has also lined up other activities for the celebration like radio guesting, press releases, streamers, open house on child caring institutions and the conduct of an ?Adoption Forum? for government workers on Feb. 20.

DSWD has also written advocacy letters to all the local government units in the Central Visayas to ask for support for the recruitment of prospective adoptive applicants.
