MANILA, Philippines?Even if the sun ain?t blazing the way it should (blame it on the drastic climate change as a result of global warming), summer is definitely in the air.
And the best confirmation of that was the hottest invite of the week, the Speedo launch of its 2008 Spring/Summer collection at its flagship store on Bonifacio High Street.
The launch was in celebration of 80 years of the cutting-edge swimwear brand, dahlings.
The affair also included the launch of the LZR Racer swimsuit, which would have as endorser Michael Phelps, who will try to achieve an unprecedented eight gold-medal haul in Beijing in August.
Naturellement before you could even bat an eyelash, the venue was packed with tons of invitees who wouldn?t want to miss a fab show like this, featuring loads of gorgeous skin on the ramp wearing those awesome bathing-suits, dahlings.
Mingling with the invitees were popular Speedo Phil. VP for merchandising Vandana Mahtani and Speedo Asia-Pacific?s Amy Leung and Mandy Hui.
Among the guests were British Embassy Manila?s trade and investment director John Charles Chick; Nameeta Dargani of Red Kimono, which served those yum-yummy hor d? oeuvres; TriNoma?s Javi Hernandez; and businessman and health buff Fred Uytengsu.
Leave it to Speedo to come up with sexy and absolutely gorgeous swimsuits, dahlings.
Sexy Warehouse gig
For the recent Valentine?s weekend, Warehouse 135 on Yakal Street, Makati was the scene of a party by Driven Manila.
It was a captivating night, dahlings, One of Asia?s best DJ?s, Joel Lai of Drop, Hong Kong, played a super sexy set that had everyone in euphoric dancing.
Lai definitely showed us how a DJ should take charge of the deck.
Well, palanggas, the evening wouldn?t be complete without the sexy melodies of Warehouse?s sexy resident DJs Miko Syquia and David Ardiente.
The hot duo got on the roll with chillaxing deep house music and played the club?s anthem that kept the party moving, palanggas. That?s how much fun it was.
Sponsors were Winston, Johnnie Walker, ABC-5, 106.7, Dream FM, 99.5 Hit FM and Shu Uemura.
Leave it to Warehouse 135 and the tight team of Driven Manila for setting an industry standard in clubbing dahlings.
Hey, you guys and gals, are you ready for the next party?
Bulgari?s bold new jewelry
The name Bulgari stands for class and prestige, dahlings. So it was no wonder that it unveiled a fabulous new line of dazzling jewelry known as Elisia.
When I first heard the name, the words that came to my mind were elegant, beautiful, sophisticated, ?timeless. And that, palanggas, are exactly what this collection is. With precious stones like sapphire and candy-colored semiprecious stones set with yellow gold and white-gold settings plus clusters of diamonds, they are gorgeous pieces that one would go gaga over.
As in most of Bulgari?s dazzling events, Elisia was presented in one elegant dinner party at the superb Sapphire Room of the Makati Shangri-La.
Bulgari displayed large images of their vintage collections, as well as the new Elisia collection, on the walls and in the entrance. Particularly eye-catching was the wall of Coutts Bank Von Ernst Ltd, which is the new partner of Bulgari.
The cocktails had loads of the chilled bubbly such as Möet & Chandon and Belvedere Vodka from Olga Azarcon of Moöt-Hennessey, naturellement, and Roundhill Viognier Chardonnay and Zinfandel Shiraz from Albert V. Villa-Real?s Wineclub.
Candles lit up the Sapphire Room, which had a fantastic variety of floral arrangements
Moi must say the whole event was excellently done by those talented women of Life Cycles Event Organizers (tel. 0918-9425118; e-mail lifecycles.events@gmail.com).
