MANILA, Philippines?Aside from real estate problems, complaint calls coming from Metro Manila subdivision homeowners against their associations are increasing.
This was revealed by Mike Denava, legal officer of the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board in a phone interview with Inquirer Property.
Complaints include election contests, overstaying homeowners? association officers, nonpayment of monthly dues and water facilities woes.
Denava also noted an increasing concern over groups that intend to avail of the community mortgage program on blighted areas. These are informal settlers who would want to become bonafide members of the community mortgage associations.
HLURB grants certificates of registration and licenses to sell to developers applying for project approval.
Denava also said approval of subdivision projects also include assurance of safety measures. Mandatory requirements, particularly in condominium units, include certificates of fire protection, occupancy permits and mechanical certificates.
