How Bianca gets her looks—by eating

MANILA, Philippines? We?ve heard the slogan, ?You are what you eat,? countless times.

Even beauty companies have taken this mantra to heart, as many have begun swapping chemical compounds for plant-based nutrients?from green tea extracts, aloe vera, cucumber and oatmeal, to every other fruit, nut, and vegetable that can be juiced and fit into a bottle.

Despite all these products, looking good still begins with eating right. I talked with Bianca Valerio to find out how healthy eating habits keep her looking just as lush as the food she eats.

1. I can never have too much servings of fruits and vegetables on a daily basis.

2. I only eat complex carbohydrates like brown or red rice, and whole wheat bread or pasta.

3. I make sure to drink lots of water. Also, the water and fiber content in all these foods are essential for moisture balance and detoxifying my system.

Bianca Valerio is a model, host, stylist, make-up artist and motivational speaker. We can all learn something from her food philosophy.
