?The average person goes to his grave with his music still in him.?
?Oliver Wendell Holmes
MANILA, Philippines? As you think, so you act. As you act, so are your habits. Your habits become a way of life, and your way of life becomes your destiny.
Dr. Ron Jensen, America?s life coach, says in his book ?Make A Life Not A Living? to rise above the ordinary, you need to achieve your own ?personal significance.? Thus, instead of adopting the philosophy of ?to see is to believe,? try a new way of thinking by saying to yourself ?What I see is what I will be.?
Jensen uses himself as an example, explaining that he once considered himself as an angry loser, then, one day he realized that he had potential to become a winner.
Cellular level
A metamorphosis of sorts required from caterpillar to butterfly is dramatic, one that should happen right down to the cellular level. Here?s how:
Believing the best?Whenever you wish to think the best about yourself, practice the art of affirming.
Affirm yourself first?Accept your humanness. Nobody is perfect but that doesn?t give you the license or excuse to always be imperfect. Therefore, tell yourself that you are significant but that you do have a side that needs correction.
Become an ?X? man/woman?There are many misgivings, misconceptions we pick up along the way of growing up. One of them is the common expression ?You can?t do it? or ?It?s impossible.? To affirm yourself means to X-out all these negatives.
Try this??I can, I will.?
Pleasant tense
Someone once put it accurately?instead of just living in the present tense, try living in the pleasant tense. In short, live life yes, to the full, but with a deep sense of gratitude.
Developing the right perspective means to be thankful in your life. So, upon waking up, say ?thank you God for my life, my gifts, my blessings??
There is more truth to the saying he who laughs last, laughs best. Because he who laughs, last. Got it?
Make humor a powerful weapon to redirect your life, expectations, attitudes. Studies have proven that you can laugh your way back to health after an illness.
A happy heart plus laughter make strong medicine.
So, lighten up!
Dark clouds come and go in a lifetime. But it is in the darkness that fears grow and thrive. To reject fear is to accept love. Traumatic childhood experiences can stunt a person?s growth and cause major relationship problems?at work and at home.
Instead of blaming your parental guidance as a child for all your anger and pain, face the truth and move on. By banishing fears, you release your doubts. If doubts persist, practice by writing it down. Explain why you can?t accomplish something, the reasons it can?t be done. Then write down why it can be done.
Because you are a work in progress, there is no end to your evolution. Yes, you can have a stronger and healthier body?as well as a trimmer, sexier you. Begin by adopting a lifestyle that incorporates the right food choices, exercise, adequate sleep and a positive frame of mind. By doing so, you can become the best that you can be.
Love and light!
