MANILA, Philippines? This was one refreshing event moi wouldn?t have missed for the world, palanggas.

It was the day when the KIDS Foundation (Kabataang Inyong Dapat Suportahan) hosted a fun charity dinner called ?Share-a-Plate? in support of the RED Under-Nutrition Program.

RED stands for: R?Reduce the incidence of underweight Filipino children; E?Eliminate poor dietary practices in focus areas; and D?Decrease life-long consequences caused by undernutrition.

This program, moi was told, aims to improve the quality of life of children through better nutrition and improved health. Its board of directors includes gentleman actor Diether Ocampo, Benedict Go, Egay Bautista, Mon Castro and Karina Tanega.

The event was held at CAV, High Street, where we all enjoyed an excellently prepared five-course meal with wine pairing, prepared by talented chef Michele Dee-Santos.

The bubbly flowed throughout the night, while violinist Jay Cayuca serenaded us with his mesmerizing music. Aprés dinner, a fun auction of photographs of children taken by Diether Ocampo from his travels around the country was held. All went to the RED Under-Nutrition Program, naturellement.

?This has been a very enjoyable and worthwhile event. On behalf of the board, I would like to say a big thank you to all the sponsors?Michele Santos, Anton Baretto, Leah Puyat, JP Castrillo, First Grind Productions and to all our friends who supported the cause. Now we can continue to help our brothers and sisters have better lives,? said a tres happy Ocampo.

For your info, dahlings, ?Share-a-Plate? gathered more than 60 invitees in one night, all of them helping more than 100 Filipino children eat better, play harder and live longer.

Now, palanggas, this is one cause definitely worth giving your time, effort and money to.
Share a plate, anyone?

Silver jubilee

It was a high-voltage night at the popular Mezze Bar and Resto when the Silver Jubilarians of Assumption High School Batch 1983 kicked off their ?Velada Year,? palanggas.

Mega-beauties, mega-brains and mega-talents were crammed in the room as the 25-years-out-of-high-school women, looking truly glam and gorgeous, partied from night till dawn, dahlings.

Beauty and brains combined in Shopwise?s marketing wiz Crickette Yu Tantoco; Renaissance Hotel?s uber charming Monique Trinidad Toda; marketing exec Ana de Villa Singson; ING?s Maite Zaldarriaga and the Dizon gals, Corcor and Lyn of the trendy Bayo line.

Rocking on the floor were achiever Malou Fores, who?s behind the successful Mamou Restaurant at Serendra (which has the best steak in town, dahlings); Bea Lopez Puno and hubby Eric, who showed us how the pros truly danced; sultry beauty Bledes Araneta Fores, all set to play Pocahontas in the coming velada; vibrant emcees Judy Antonio and Gina Pimentel, who hosted a not-so-usual ?Bring Me Game? where Teresa Goduco won hands-down?as the one who married her high-school graduation ball date!

Assumptionistas from other batches came in full support, too: Annie Maceda, Maris Antonio, Maitel Minana, Sarina Fores, Detsie Laurel and Cristina Trota of Max and Krispy Kreme.

Plus, there were the guys?Angelino Gonzales and Jaybee Dimayuga, for instance, considered among Manille?s most eligible bachelors.

Assumption High School Batch 1983 Velada is set for October. The girls will sing and dance to the beat of Hollywood, showing us why they are truly proud to be Assumptionists.

Ah, yes, dahlings, the silver color truly hits the spot for these jubilarians.
