Discipline is key to one’s health

MANILA, Philippines?Andy is a 46-year-old entrepreneur. All his life he had been nicknamed ?Tubby? because of his huge frame. Weighing close to 260 lbs., he has continuously experienced difficulty in losing weight. Though worried about his family history of heart problems, he continues to eat with much gusto and little restraint.

The trend in today?s world is immediate gratification. But when this need to fill cravings/desire contributes to a negative/detrimental situation in the near future, wouldn?t you stop?

In Andy?s case, his helpless wife has no power to curb his compulsive eating habits. And in the process she is now 40 lbs. overweight. Since she could not beat him, she joined him.

Rooting beliefs

It?s just like a plant. You want a sturdy tree, plant the good seeds on fertile soil.

Two things required:

1. Adopt the right principles. Sit down, take stock of your life and write down the values that are directing your life today.

2. Embark on a mission. Set down the targets, time tables and action plan.

If I were to fill up Andy?s and Carla?s lists, they would appear like this.

I value most?a healthy body and a positive self image.

My mission?to achieve a healthier body within 6 months by eating right, exercising and doing these with discipline.

In the process, I will share with all who wish to listen to my success story.

Delayed gratification always results in greater satisfaction. If you are still stuck in the purgatory of ?if-only?s?, start by saying to yourself ?it is done.?

Great skin buffer

Splash milk onto your face to soften skin. Wet a towel with milk and rub it all over your body. Removes the grime and dry skin. Shower afterwards.

Affirm

?Today I march to a mission to save myself.?
