MANILA, Philippines - Motherhood is without a doubt one of the most difficult yet fulfilling vocations. It requires unconditional love and selflessness beyond compare. Oftentimes, mothers forego their own needs in favor of their families?.

Today, with this special shoot, we pay tribute to all mothers out there who pour their hearts and souls into raising beautiful children, who will grow up to be responsible young adults with the right values.

Desiree Verdadero-Abesamis, 46
Daughter of Josefina, wife to JB, mom to Andrea, 16, and Bien, 4

?I?m a very hands-on mom. I cook for them and bring them to school. I?m very close to them. Andrea and I don?t clash. I trust her but don?t necessarily always trust those around her. My mother was a working woman so, in this aspect, I?m raising my family differently.?

?My mom is strict but fun. She?s cool. I?m allowed to go malling and watch movies with friends. Every now and then, I?m allowed to go to parties. I want to be a model just like her.?

Alice E. Fong, 41
Daughter of Carmen, wife to Sander, mom to Alexi, 16, Jerikka, 13, Aiyanna, 13, Andrio, 8, and Madison, 6

?I?m not as strict as my mom was. I?m kind of cool, easy-going. But I lay down the law if I have to. My mother was formal. She was not very sporty so we never played games or anything of that sort, while I play all kinds of sports with my children. I teach them to be competitive, to never give up but to always be fair and gracious. Just as my mom did, I encourage the kids to love books and to always just do whatever it is they have to do.?

?She?s not really a mom. She?s more like a best friend. I tell her everything and I hang out with her every chance I get. It?s funny how we even fight like friends. There are days she acts really young and we?re both hyper, and there are times when we have deep ?emo? talks. We always hang out in Starbucks just to talk.?

Michelle Cariaso, 35
Daughter of Alice, wife to Jeff, mom to Javi, 16, Jay 12, Aya 8, and King, 2

?I?m like my mom. I?m copying the way she was because I like how I grew up. For example, she made me work during summers so I?m making Javi work, too.

I?m also a health buff. I love to cook so I make sure everything my family eats is right. I apply everything I learn from my nutrition class, as I am now studying nursing. So, our diet is low-fat, no processed food, plus, I got rid of the microwave oven because they say it?s carcinogenic.?

?She?s nice. She keeps everything light and she?s always in a good mood.?

Aileen Tence-Dionisio, 43
Daughter of Nati, wife to Ken, mom to Karl, 20, Kaila, 18, Kevin, 16, Kyle 11, and Keena, 7

?I wake up at 4:30 in the morning each day to see to my children?s needs. I prepare breakfast and send them off to school and their various activities. I?m trying my best to bring them up conservatively, just as my mom brought me up. My mom was very prayerful. I would like to instill the same Christian values I grew up with in all my children.?

?She?s dedicated, hard-working and very OC (obsessive compulsive!). She always has the determination to finish what she starts. She?s passionate in whatever she does and is very involved in community activities.
She?s also very prayerful. She gives the best advice and likes to keep up with what her kids are doing.?
