Makeover 911
Perfumes and perspiration

`MANILA, Philippines? Those of you who have not yet gotten Mom something can never go wrong with fragrance. Bear in mind that every woman?s priority in this heat is to smell good.

The top picks are those that fall under the classifications of Citrus, Aquatic and Fruity Floral. The common factor: They are designed to blend well with perspiration so one does not smell sour.

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Revitalize EDT P2,250/50ml and P2,950/100ml?This sequel is even better than the original green tea. This one has more blood orange and mandarin; it has the clean scent of bamboo and mint infused with green tea. It smells so fresh and energizing but helps one focus and concentrate. I spray this when I have deadlines.

Lacoste Dream of Pink P3,250/50ml and P4,150/ 100ml?This limited-edition perfume is not to be confused with Lacoste Touch of Pink, which has an orange-and-vanilla blend which is refreshing and comforting at the same time. It is a fruity floral which combines citrus fruits, berries, lotus flower and roses.

This reminds me of Victoria Secret?s Pink EDT that smells like Pink Grapefruit; it gives that necessary energy boost before and after a workout. A single P5,000 receipt purchase entitles one to a pink iPod speaker.

The Body Shop Aqua Lily P795/30ml EDT and P695 for the Body Mist Spray? This aquatic fresh fragrance is the replacement of the Oceanus line which I frankly felt was pretty anemic compared to others of its kind. The combination of bamboo, watermelon and green apple will perk anyone up.

Moms who want an exclusive scent should be taken for a visit to Adora in Greenbelt 5. Head to the Histoire de Parfums counter and sniff the individual cones to choose the scent which corresponds best to mom?s personality. The labels are according to birth years of famous people throughout history and one?s personal choice may surprise you.

For matching bath and body products that will complement these scents, try out Elianto shower gels, body scrubs and non-greasy hydrating body lotions in grapefruit, green tea, peppermint and Nature Flower. It is a Malaysian brand so it is relatively inexpensive but of very good quality. Layering with these will extend mom?s summer scents. The lavender line helps one sleep better at night. Elianto is available in Robinsons Galleria, SM: MOA, Pampanga, Manila and the SM Block.
