Mahatma Gandhi and mind power

AHMEDABAD, India? This year, India commemorates the 60th death anniversary of its father, Mohandas Gandhi, the man who gave up his life to unite and free India. His countrymen called him Mahatma, an Indian title of respect meaning the Blessed Soul.

Showing a strong mental power never seen by the world, Gandhi led his nation in overthrowing a formidable empire. They fought their British rulers by mass civil disobedience, without taking up arms. By a concerted focus on their goal of liberation, the Indians won their freedom without having to fire a single shot.

Gandhi taught his people that by a positive system of anything they believed in, reaffirmed by constant prayer and meditation, their freedom could be attained. His concentration when he prayed and meditated was such that nothing could distract him. It was written that days before an assassin succeeded in killing him, a bomb was exploded which barely missed him. He continued his meditation as if nothing happened.

Such was the intensity of his mental focus and concentration. He truly showed the world that whatever one sets his mind on, he can achieve it in due time. And in Gandhi?s case, his dream of a united and progressive India continues to materialize long after his death. His mind has already locked in his dream, with decades spent on persevering focus and visualization of their dream. His vision has been imprinted on his nation?s fate and history, and it was just a matter of time for it to come to fruition.

Science may not fully explain this phenomenon but this mental power to make vision a reality is possessed by everyone who believes in it. Attributed to the unchartered subconscious mind, it defies established scientific principles and breaches the boundaries of easily palpable scientific evidence.

Great men like Gandhi who have achieved the impossible all know the frequently told but unbelieved power of the subconscious mind. Whatever one seeks?success, fame, prosperity, good health or peace of mind?by tapping on the power of the subconscious mind through prayer, meditation, positive affirmation and creative visualization as if one?s dream has already been achieved, one can achieve almost anything. What is important is that one?s goal benefits not only oneself but other people as well. Hence, the need to share with others whatever one dreams about is an essential element.

It?s been known for centuries and various scientists and nonscientists have explained it in rather complicated terms. The truth is, it?s simple which makes many think that that it?s too good to be true. But great people like Gandhi knows otherwise. These are the people who have rewritten history by using to the max the power of their subconscious mind. They believed and they achieved. And the amazing truth is, experts on the power of the subconscious mind believe that any person can do the same.
