MANILA, Philippines - Carine del Rosario met Alpi Bacani in November 2006 during her three-month assignment for a multinational bank in Tokyo, through a close friend who introduced her via e-mail to Alpi, then working for an international fruit company.
The next two months were a whirlwind of romantic dates and out-of-Tokyo trips that steadily drew them to each other. Distance did not become a hindrance when she came back to Manila. Their relationship was sustained via daily Skype sessions, countless e-mails and the occasional shuttling between Tokyo and Manila.
After only six months since their first meeting, they decided to get engaged in July 2007.
With the Madre de Dios Chapel in Tagaytay Midlands providing a breathtaking view of Taal Lake and the surrounding lush greens, their recent Tuscany-inspired wedding last March 1 was truly an event to remember.
Carine?s mom?s Village Blooms transformed the Tagaytay Midlands Veranda into a spectacle of orange lighting with various table arrangements of roses, lisanthius and orchids, mixed with grapes, oranges and pears.
Two of the program?s highlights were the videos specially made by Imacron to tell their unique love story and the surprise salsa number prepared by the couple. To cap everything off, Carine?s dad?s band, The First Minstrels, played while fireworks lit the Tagaytay sky.
