Back-to-school makeup

Philippine Daily Inquirer
First Posted 18:25:00 06/03/2008

Don't try to look older than you really are. Sophistication comes with age and experience, so even if you wear your mom's red lipstick, you won't look like a woman, only a kid playing with makeup.

Don't try to look younger than you really are. Bright ribbons and butterfly clips should be left behind in grade school.

Experiment, but keep your style intact. If you're a shy girl, why insist on color if you're not comfortable? If you're adventurous, there's no reason to stick to safe styles.

Add hints of color one at a time to see what suits your skin tone, and to see what makes you feel comfortable.

Wear only a thin layer of makeup so you'll be comfortable in class (you wouldn't want to miss lectures because you have to retouch, and melted makeup looks terrible.)

Don't try to look too different from semester to semester, as this will give people a confusing impression of who you really are.
