MANILA, Philippines?Ever heard of the expression ?Bigger is better?? Well, this age-old motto doesn?t just apply to life and love, but also to beauty.
Going big has made a comeback. Jessica Simpson?s big cascading curls were first popularized by Farrah Fawcett in the ?50s and ?60s. Dita Von Teese? signature luscious red lips and ultra sexy lashes were first seen on Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe.
Get ready to go over the top and take your look to soaring heights. After all, if you?re not going to take it to the max, why even bother?
To get big lush lashes:
Dust loose powder over your lashes first to absorb oil and help your mascara stick. Then, squeeze an eyelash curler as close as you can get to the roots and work your way up. Coat on volumizing mascara if you want your lashes to stand out. Attach a small section of false lashes (choose pieces longer than your natural ones). This will add dramatic flutter to your every blink.
If you already have long dark lashes, get yourself some clear mascara. The magic of clear mascara is that it?s impossible for you to get smudges or clumps, just perfect lashes that stand out.
Keep in mind that eyelashes help emphasize your dazzling eyes. You won?t feel the need to wear as much makeup because of it.
For Farrah Fawcett hair:
Gently towel hair dry to remove moisture, but not all of the water. Greasy, oily buildup makes hair clump together and stick to the scalp, giving you zero volume. Long-lasting volume starts with really clean hair.
Build volume at the roots by working in a mousse. Do not draw the mousse completely through the length of the strands, or it will add too much weight to sufficiently build hair volume.
As you blow-dry, lift sections of hair toward the sky, directing hot air toward your scalp. When you lift your hair upward while blow-drying, this ?cooks? the roots and dries them in an upright and lifted position. Do this until hair is completely dry. Voila?full, gorgeous hair!
Also, try using volumizing conditioner and shampoo (even if you have curly hair) and apply conditioner only to the ends. These products are formulated explicitly not to weigh hair down.
Plump that pout:
Prime your puckers by dipping a cotton swab in rich moisturizer and rubbing it across your lips to loosen dry flakes. Pat it dry with tissue and swipe on a creamy red lipstick that accentuates your pout.
This makes your kisser look even fuller. If you outline your lips with a nude-colored pencil first, the bright red color won?t creep out from the edges.
Of course, the last thing needed to complete the look is confidence. The stars of yore wouldn?t have made a mark in fashion history if not for their supersized confidence, so don?t forget to wear it with pride.
