One card, countless miles

MANILA, Philippines - Everything travelers could possibly ask for is finally rolled into one plastic currency that's designed to redefine the travel credit card category.

Use your card to earn miles and choose from among five - not one - Frequent Flyer Program partners with the new Citi PremierMiles from Citibank, the world's largest credit card provider. Even better, the miles you earn do not expire.

The Citi PremierMiles gives more mileage to your spending by partnering with Philippine Airlines, Mabuhay Miles, Cathay Pacific's Asia Miles, Singapore Airlines, KrisFlyer, Thai Airway's Royal Orchid and Northwest Airlines' WorldPerks.

With their participation in three travel alliance programs such as oneworld, SkyTeam and Star Alliance, Citi PremierMiles cardholders can redeem miles in more than 70 airlines.

With one mile earned for every purchase of P45, the most generous in the industry, the freedom to choose your destination and airline has never been this good. Apply now and earn double points for the same amount spent until Aug. 31. (Other credit card companies require P65 per one mile.)

“We always want to be ahead of the game. Travelers rarely fly using the same carrier every time. Those who are looking for the best deals tend to switch airlines, depending on destination. Now they have total freedom with their miles,” said Mark Jones, Citi's country business manager.

Citi PremierMiles comes in Gold and Platinum editions. Platinum cardholders will automatically earn two miles for every P45 charged to their card overseas. Since miles do not expire, cardholders can store miles to redeem a trip, get a companion ticket or avail of a complimentary upgrade.

Cardholders are also entitled to a free travel inconvenience and travel accident insurance. Charge tickets to the card and get an insurance coverage of up to P10 million. Coverage begins from point of departure to point of arrival.

“This is a pretty good deal, another worry cardholders need not bother with,” said Citi's cards business director Bea Tan.

Seasoned travelers will also be delighted to know that delayed or missed flights and delayed or lost luggage are covered by Citi PremierMiles. A minimum six hours of delayed luggage, for instance, will entitle a cardholder to claim as much as P10,000. If traveling with family, the claim doubles to as much as P20,000.

Lost luggage, those not found within 24 hours, are covered for up to P30,000, or up to P60,000 when with family.

A convenient, toll-free number is available for cardholders in the province to redeem earned miles. The offering so far is unmatched by all reward program cards, Jones said, and is designed to help consumers earn more miles and enjoy them.
