MANILA, Philippines? Here?s an interesting letter from a reader we shall call Anita (not her real name):
?Dear Mr. Licauco,
?I just want to share my story and to be enlightened about events that happened years back.
?In 2002, my brother-in-law Oscar (not his real name) was murdered. While my husband and mother-in-law were on their way to claim his body, my husband called me up and while we were talking I heard a sound on the phone and I thought there was something wrong with his car. I even asked my husband if he could hear it, but he said no. Then I heard it again, and this time it became clearer to me that it was more of a cry of a person in pain or ?ungol.? I told my husband what I was hearing but at his end he heard nothing of the sort. Then, in a flash, I thought it might be Oscar?s ?paramdam.?
?During his wake, there was one night I was standing facing the door of the mortuary and at my back was the coffin. I saw visitors coming and when they got nearer, I knew for sure that things that transpired already happened before. For example, the way they entered, the way they were introduced, the way they were talking. It was a case of déjà vu.
?I also remember months before Oscar?s death, I had dreams that materialized after a month or two. The scenario in the mortuary was included in those dreams.
?I was wondering why during those particular months they happened so often and at short intervals. I still experience déjà vu, but it?s back to long intervals. Was it a warning of sorts? And the crying on the phone, is it really possible that Oscar was trying to communicate with us? If I didn?t get scared, what things could have happened if he was really communicating at that time? Why did these experiences related to his death happen to me and not to his siblings with whom he was much closer? Or to his mother?
?It?s been years after Oscar?s death but these questions have always been at the back of my mind hoping to be answered. ?
Anita
Here are my answers to your questions:
Yes, it is possible the voice you heard was from your murdered brother-in-law, Oscar. Victims of sudden death, like murder or accident, go into a state of shock in the after life. They are not sure where they are. They may not even know they are already dead. Some who may become aware they are already dead may not be ready to accept that fact. They could be in a state of denial. And so they may continue to do what they are used to doing while still alive, like going to the office or reading a newspaper during breakfast, etc.
Some who are aware that they have been murdered, like in the case of Oscar, may call for help or for justice. If they were in pain before they died, they may express the sound of anguish or pain. So one who is sensitive may hear some moaning sounds.
Why is it that you heard the eerie sound on the phone, but your husband didn?t? Because your husband is probably not as sensitive as you are.
People who are not sensitive to the spirit or psychic forces do not experience or encounter such things, that?s why it?s hard to convince them spirits exist.
Why is it that those closer to Oscar, like his siblings or his mother, did not experience what you have experienced with him? Because they may not have a clairvoyant vision or third eye open, or may not be sensitive enough. But you have mediumistic tendency and spirits can see this. So they manifest to you and not to them. It is difficult for spirits to find a channel that?s compatible with them. It is just a question of openness to the spirit world and to the same vibratory rate or frequency. If you are tuned to an FM band on radio, you can?t hear AM broadcast, right? Exactly the same thing happens in spirit communications. The two must be in the same frequency.
If you were not scared, and continued to listen, you may have been able to hear what Oscar was telling you. You may even get to know the name of the murderers, if he knew who they were, or at least the description of the killers. Or he may have some message for his loved ones.
You asked why your déjà vu experience happened more often during the months following Oscar?s death, but not before? Because tragedies of that sort make people become more sensitive to psychic and spiritual forces. And these manifest at times in dreams. According to some ?primitive? cultures, before something happens in our waking state, they first appear in our dreams.
If we try to learn more about the spirit world, we will not get scared when we encounter them in our waking state and will know exactly how to handle the situation.
