Philip Stein project benefits the Red Cross

MANILA, Philippines—Luxury and generosity, dahlings, define the Philip Stein launch of “Feel It-Project Red Cross,” which benefits the blood services program of the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC). Philip Stein opened its first global boutique at The Podium in Ortigas.

Jetting in from the US for this highly successful affair was Philip Stein Corp. hotshot president Will Stein. He was joined by adorable TV personality and Philip Stein endorser Kris Aquino; PNRC dedicated super guardian angel and governor Rosa Rosal, and Lucerne Group brilliant managing directors Emerson Yao and Ivan Yao, no less, palanggas.

“Philip Stein is so successful here in the Philippines and I want to give something back to the people. This project with the Red Cross is anchored as ‘responsible luxury.’ We have to be responsible for the environment we live in and for the people around us,” said Will.

“We are very happy and appreciate the positive energy of the Filipinos.”

For her part, our palangga Kris remarked, “I am touched that Will Stein is doing Project Red. I don’t only endorse Philip Stein, I buy it as well.” She added, “If a foreigner like Will is doing something to help Filipinos, we Filipinos should be the ones to take the initiative and become even more involved.” Well said, Kris.

The highlight of this happening was the turnover of a P1-million check donation to Rosa Rosal, who was extremely grateful for the awesome amount which can help purchase a platelet incubator. “I am truly thankful to Philip Stein and Kris for their help. Commercial blood banks are closed and the PNRC is the only source of safe blood,” Rosa said and added, “With Kris around, I’m sure the PNRC will be in safe hands.” Amen, dahlings.

Naturellement, Metrobank Cards marketing and sales head Peaches Cuenco and product management head Butch Reyes were tres visables.

During the event, Metrobank credit cardholders got a zero-percent interest for 12 months with the limited 400 edition of Philip Stein Project Red watch and an extra Philip Stein watch strap.

Get yourself one! You’ll be helping a great cause, palanggas.

Of wine and pleasure

It was such a super pleasant happening, palanggas, when the chi-chi BMW Philippines partnered with world-class wine distributor Moët Hennessy for a tres exclusive evening of fun and excellent wines, dahlings. The intimate gathering of wine connoisseurs and gourmands featured wines from the renowned Casa Lapostolle, introduced to us by young European wine maker, the brilliant and good-looking Señor Diego Urra, no less. Aprés cocktails, he gave us a 45-minute super interesting talk on the great vineyard in Chile, South America, and the production of wines in Casa Lapostolle. It was followed by the tasting of red and white wines from Casa Lapostolle, natch, which included Cuvee Alexander Chardonnay, Cuvee Alexander Merlot and Clos Apalta. The Chilean-grown wines were expertly paired with an excellently prepared four-course dinner by the culinary team of Markus Gfeller of the place to see and be seen, Cave.

That night of sensual pleasures affirmed how BMW and Moët Hennessy, both global leaders in their respective luxury segments, share a mission of promoting the appreciation of the high life, dahlings.

Optic brilliance

We are totally mesmerized, dahlings, during the unveiling of the world-class Oakley’s latest collection. Meera Enterprises Inc., the official distributor of Oakley in the Philippines, exhibited its newly acquired “scope machine,” which is being used by the American National Standards Institute (Ansi) in determining the quality of eyewear one uses. If you’re still not aware, palanggas, Oakley is “a sport and lifestyle brand, driven through the fusion of art, science, and wrapping them in art that defines and inspires popular culture, conceptualizes the best designs through artist collaborations and athlete-inspired design treatments.”

We were treated to cocktails at the eye-catching venue where we witnessed the unveiling of the scope machine and a demo to show that Oakley has definitely passed Ansi standards—“being the most superior eyewear in clarity and protection.”

I’ve always been an Oakley user, dahlings, and moi was not at all surprised to see other Oakley lovers like Arthur and Martha King, health buff Fred Uytengsu, Gaby de la Merced and Tim Yap. All of us were amazed by the scope machine’s excellent demonstration.

Check it out, palanggas.
