Cheat tricks (part 2) By Apples Aberin Sadhwani Philippine Daily Inquirer First Posted 22:32:00 08/28/2008
MANILA, Philippines—Part of dressing appropriately is knowing what kind of undergarment or style aid (double sided tape, for one) to use with certain articles of clothing. You may be dressed in the latest fashions from the chicest brands but if your bra straps are showing, your panty lines are visible, or your hemlines are hanging, your style quotient simply plummets.
Because you requested for more cheat tricks to help you dress seamlessly, we scoured the metro for some of the best undergarments and nifty little style aids. Now, there's no excuse for ugly underwear sightings or a less than well-groomed appearance again.
Take your pick from our picks:
Say goodbye to VPLs (visible panty lines)
When choosing panties or knickers, go for ultra-thin seamless varieties that won't show under skin-tight pants, dresses or skirts. A thong is your best bet, but if you're not comfortable wearing one, other cuts—as long as they are seamless—can serve the same purpose.
Stick it on
You don't have to go bra-less when wearing backless tops or dresses. There are a number of stick-on bras in the market that can provide both support and just a bit of padding. You can also opt to wear nipple tape or silicone breast tapes instead of the usual bras.
All it takes is tape
Here's the answer to revealing necklines, flapping skirts or hanging hemlines and such: double-sided tape! Sure, they sell it in the office supply stores, but pretty please, opt for these varieties that don't leave marks on clothing and can adhere to skin, as well as all types of fabric.
Take the plunge
If you're wearing something that's low in front, but aren't brave enough to go bra-less, go for La Senza Dreamshapers U Plunge Bra. It provides not just support but that much-needed extra push.
