MANILA, Philippines?Shangri-La Makati?s lobby was packed like a can of sardines, palanggas, when the super popular Nokia?s Fashion Watch, already on its third quarter, was held Tuesday and Thursday, 4:30 p.m.
?Nokia is proud to associate itself with the Philippines? best and brightest designers,? said popular William Hamilton-Whyte, brilliant general manager, Nokia Philippines. ?Designing a mobile phone shares the same philosophy as fashion designers, which are influenced by current trends, personality band preferences of the consumer.?
Moi noticed during the show of Jojie Lloren that there was this amazing designer (not from our town!) who had nowhere to sit on. He dumped himself into an empty chair while the occupant was in the ladies room.
He refused to leave till the society fashionista literally told him, ?Will you please leave? You?re in my seat,? which he did reluctantly. This designer should be sent back to school to learn good manners, ?di bala!
The country?s best designers, palanggas, showcased their latest collections that enthrall and delight fashionistas. Rich fabrics, hues and craftsmanship were evident in the stunning pieces, dahlings. The chi-chi high tea crowd can?t seem to get enough of the clothes and Nokia, natch!
Night of power and pleasure
Do you remember the line of Uncle Ben in ?Spiderman?: ?With great power comes great responsibility.? Well, palanggas, that?s how it felt that night when mega executives of the corporate world gathered for an event of the hard-to-beat Ayala Land. The company introduced another baby simply called Senta, an eye-catching 39-story residential condominium. The Gallery at the tres chic Greenbelt 5 was the venue for the exclusive preview of this new development in Legazpi Village, Makati.
Our town?s A-listers had a great night of good food, excellent wine and naturellement, Senta?s promise of the good life, dahlings. Leading the pack were Ayala Land?s hotshots Bobby Dy, head of the residential business group; senior vice president Rex Mendoza; and Dan Abando, president of Alveo Land.
?The new affluent are looking for a different kind of fortune like a high-powered lifestyle. Things that make their lives better and help them develop into well-rounded individuals,? said Abando.
And believe moi, high-powered it is, palanggas. It has a museum-inspired lobby designed by renowned interior designer Ed Calma; three swimming pools, with one having an outdoor theater, a private putting green and a relaxing Zen garden on the roof deck.
Senta is definitely a place of power and pleasure, palanggas.
